Jess & Scott's Wedding
At Tewinbury
Jess & Scott at Tewinbury
When Jess and Scott began planning their wedding, they knew they wanted more than just a single day. With Scott based in America and Jess in England, bringing everyone together in one place for as long as possible mattered just as much as the ceremony itself. They were looking for somewhere warm, personal and flexible enough to shape into a full wedding weekend, with on site accommodation high on the list.
Jess had first discovered Tewinbury at one of our Farm Yard sessions back in 2021 and, after getting engaged in 2023, the farm quickly came back to mind. After their first visit, it was clear they had found the right place.
A venue that felt like the perfect fit
From the moment they were shown around, Jess and Scott fell for the charm and versatility of Tewinbury. They loved that the spaces felt special without being formal and that the setting could be shaped to suit their own style of celebration.
For them, it was the balance that stood out most. Luxury and comfort. Intimacy and space. A countryside setting with the ease of having everything in one place. The fact that Tewinbury is family run made it feel even more personal.
“Tewinbury instantly felt like the perfect fit. We were so impressed by the versatility of the spaces and how effortlessly we could make the day our own.”
Planning the day
Working closely with Lauren, the couple created a wedding that felt relaxed, thoughtful and completely their own. From food choices to the finer details, every part of the day was shaped around how they wanted the weekend to feel.
The planning process felt easy from start to finish, with the team helping guide decisions, offer ideas and make sure everything stayed personal along the way.
“Lauren took the time to get to know us as a couple and helped shape a day that felt personal, relaxed and completely us.”
A full weekend wedding at the farm
Jess and Scott arrived the day before the wedding, with close friends and family checking into bedrooms across the farm and nearby. That evening, they hosted a laid back Pizza Party on the Stable Bar Terrace, a perfect start to the celebrations.
Set by the river on a summer evening, it gave everyone the chance to settle in, catch up and enjoy the start of the weekend together, with great pizza, friendly service and live music adding to the atmosphere.
On the morning of the wedding, the groom and groomsmen had breakfast in the Cowshed while the bridal party enjoyed breakfast delivered to the room where they were getting ready, a small touch that made the morning feel especially calm and considered.
Guests gathered in the courtyard before the ceremony in the Tythe Barn, followed by drinks and canapés in the adjoining garden. Keeping things seasonal and relaxed, Jess and Scott served Pimms, bottled beers and elderflower drinks for their summer celebration.
Food that brought everyone together
For their wedding breakfast, the couple chose a two course sharing style BBQ feast with mini desserts, a format that felt sociable, generous and perfect for the atmosphere they wanted to create.
Later in the evening, wood fired pizzas were served fresh from the courtyard pizza van, rounding off the night exactly as they had hoped. At the end of it all, the team even left pizza in their room for after the dancing had finished.
“The canapés were incredible, the BBQ feast was a huge hit with our guests and the evening pizzas were the perfect way to round off the night.”
On the day
From the styling to the smooth running of the day, everything came together exactly as Jess and Scott had imagined. With so many beautiful backdrops across the farm, there was no shortage of photo opportunities, while Charlotte, their on the day coordinator, made sure everything ran seamlessly behind the scenes.
“Charlotte was absolutely brilliant. She brought such a calming presence, kept everything running smoothly and made sure we could simply enjoy every moment.”
The perfect ending
The morning after the wedding, Jess and Scott gathered again with their guests for breakfast in the Cowshed, giving everyone time to reconnect, relive the best moments and say proper goodbyes.
To close the weekend, they finished with a roast at the Granary Kitchen, a final get together that felt relaxed, warm and fitting for the end of such a memorable few days.
“Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. We are so grateful to Lauren and the entire Tewinbury team for helping us create a weekend full of love, joy and time with the people who mean the most to us.”
