Roots Market Garden Dinner
Humble Grape x Roots
A wine-led Roots dinner in collaboration with Humble Grape, bringing food and wine together in the market garden.
For this evening, the wine is not an add-on. It sits at the centre of the experience. Each course will be built with the wine in mind, creating a menu where the food and the glass work together from the start.
Humble Grape will lead the pairing, bringing a selection of small producer and low-intervention wines with proper character. Expect bottles with stories behind them, made by independent producers and chosen for the way they sit with seasonal food rather than because they are obvious.
The evening will unfold course by course, with each wine introduced as it is poured. The tasting element will be informal and conversational, giving guests a better sense of the producer, the region, the style and why that wine has been chosen. Enough detail to make it interesting, but still relaxed enough to feel like dinner rather than a masterclass.
The food will stay true to Roots. Seasonal, farm-led and shaped by the market garden. Dishes will be designed around the wines, using produce from the farm and ingredients that bring each pairing to life. Some plates may be light and fresh, others a little deeper and more structured, depending on the bottle they are built around.
Set outside in the market garden, this is a slightly more focused Roots evening, but still very much grounded in the farm. Good food, thoughtful wine, long tables and a slower way to spend a late-summer Saturday.
