Afternoon-TeaAfternoon Tea

The Afternoon tea tradition originated in the early 1800s from Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford.

Tea was served with bread and butter in the afternoon to avoid hunger between lunch and dinner.

This practice then became a British norm which then saw the inclusion of fancy pastries, sandwiches and scones with clotted cream and preserves.
