Pottery Class: Slip Casting
Workshop
Slip Casting
Pottery
In this 1.5-hour workshop, Bryony Applegate will guide you through the art of marbled
porcelain slip-casting as you create a beautiful trio of cups in the colours of your choice. Slipcasting is a ceramic process where liquid clay (called slip) is poured into a plaster mould, allowing it to form the shape of the object as the moisture is absorbed.
You'll learn the basics of slip-casting and fettling while creating your own unique marbled pieces, perfect for drinks, snacks, or decorative trinket pots. Your work will then be taken back to Bryony’s studio to be fired and finished with a transparent glaze, before being delivered Back to Tewinbury Farm for collection.
