Roots at Tewinbury

Let's Tewinbury

Roots Market Garden Dinner

Late Summer Roots

A Tewinbury-led Roots dinner to close the season, as the market garden moves from late summer into autumn.

By October, the farm feels different. The light drops earlier, the garden changes colour and the food naturally becomes deeper, slower and more grounded. This supper is about that shift.

The menu will be led by Tewinbury, shaped entirely by the farm, the kitchen and the market garden. Expect late-season vegetables, herbs, fire cooking and dishes that lean into autumn without losing the freshness of the garden. It is the final Roots dinner of the year, so the food will have a slightly more settled feel. Less high summer, more warmth, depth and comfort.

This is not a heavy winter dinner. It is a late-season supper, built around what is still coming through from the beds and what the farm is moving into. Charred vegetables, slow-cooked elements, deeper sauces, warm breads, garden herbs and plates that feel properly rooted in the time of year.

The evening will be served across the long tables in the market garden, bringing the Roots season to a close in the place it started. By this point, the garden has done a full turn. The dinner should feel like a proper wind down, a chance to gather after the summer rush and mark the end of the season.

Humble Grape will pair wines throughout, choosing bottles that reflect the move into autumn. Expect wines with a little more depth, structure and warmth, still coming from small producers and still poured with a relaxed introduction alongside each course.

A final long-table supper on the farm. Fire cooking, autumn produce, good wine and the last Roots evening of the year.
