A more relaxed Roots evening built around spritz, sharing plates and the long, warm stretch of early summer.
Italian Spritz Night is less formal supper club, more garden party around the table. It is designed for easy drinking, good food and a slower evening outside, with the market garden setting the pace.
Throughout the night, we’ll be pouring a mix of spritz serves. There will be the classics, of course, but also a few lesser-known, slightly more interesting Italian-inspired serves. Bitter, citrus-led, fresh, herbal and lightly sparkling, the kind of drinks that make sense when the sun is still up and the evening has nowhere to rush to.
The food will be built for sharing. Seasonal plates from the kitchen and garden, passed around the table and designed to sit with the drinks. Think summer ingredients, lighter dishes, good oils, herbs, char, acidity and simple plates that feel right outside. Nothing too heavy, nothing too formal, just a menu made for long tables and full glasses.
The evening will have a looser feel than some of the other Roots dinners. Music will sit low in the background, spritz will be poured throughout and the menu will come out in a way that feels generous and social. It is still rooted in the farm and the garden, but with a more playful Italian edge.
Set among the beds, with the garden at its most alive, this is a Roots dinner for the middle of summer. Easy, golden, a little bit bitter, a little bit bright and very much made for being outside.
