Maydencroft Rural are the company that act on our behalf on all our farm and nature projects, linked to working with Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust (HMWT), Natural England, Environmental Agency etc. Our customers and supporters who have been coming down the drive to the hotel over the last few months must have been wondering what was going on with all of the tree/hedge work and new fences appearing all over the place. We are pleased to report that other than some new gates, our project is nearly finished! After Christmas and with the website changing, for our customers staying with us at the hotel there will be a ‘woodland walk’ erected immediately above the hotel building Rectory Wood. Information sheets will be available from reception to guide you ad natural wooden seats installed to enjoy the wood and views of our lovely Mimram Valley.
For our ‘Valley’ supporters, we are proud to announce long horn cattle and sheep will now be seen grazing around not only the River Mimram but also around St Peter’s Church, which both Ivor and I have missed for many years. A new chalk stream river walk, as well as the gravel pit will be opened too.
Keep an eye on the monthly newsletter for an annoucement of our opening weekend when we would like to invite as many supporters as can make the date for tea and cakes and to meet us, the Maydencroft Environment Team and HMWT. We will even tell you about our longhorn cattle and their stockmen!
