Deputy Front Office Manager (Maternity Cover)

Deputy Front Office Manager (Maternity Cover up to 12 months)

 

We are looking to recruit a Deputy Front Office Manager to join our friendly front of house team.

 

Responsibilites would include:

  • Managing the front office department alongside the existing Deputy Front office Manger
  • Preparation of monthly Rota’s
  • Monitoring of departmental costs to ensure they are kept within budget
  • Ensuring that the front office team are meeting four star standards at all times.
  • Meeting and greeting guests, ensuring that they are made to feel welcome.
  • Ensuring that guests are checked in and out in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Booking reservations and maintaining a waiting list for availability.
  • Dealing with any guest queries and issues.
  • Fielding telephone calls to the relevant staff across the business.


You will need to be smartly presented and have a calm, professional and friendly manner.


Previous experience within a quality hotel is essential, previous hotel reception experinece and knowledge of the Opera system would be an advantage however full training will be provided.

Hours of work will be 40 hours a week and will include early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Kitchen Porter

Kitchen Porter

 

Tewin Bury Farm has vacancies for both full and part time kitchen porters. The sucessful candidate must be flexible as these postions will involved working mainly evenings & weekends.

 

Typical duties will involve:

Ensuring our high standards of hygiene are maintained in all of our kitchens

Washing dishes and pots & using our indutrail dishwasher

Cleaning down all food preparation areas

Deep cleaning kitchen areas outside of service times

Restaurant Food and Beverage Assistant

Restaurant Food and Beverage Assistant

We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Food and Beverage Assistant to join our friendly restaurant team.

The role of Food and Beverage Assistant will involve:

  • Meeting and greeting guests.
  • Taking customer orders in a friendly and efficient manner, relaying them accurately to the kitchen.
  • Dealing with customer queries and issues.
  • Clearing and relaying the Restaurant ready for service.
  • Ensuring excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

As the restaurant is open 7 days a week you will be required to work a variety of shifts, on any 5 days from 7, on any day of the year.  Typical shifts will be; 6am to 3pm, 12pm to 10pm and 3pm to close.  This role will include weekday and weekend shifts so candidates must be flexible.

The successful candidate will ideally have some previous waiting experience within a quality hotel or restaurant.  All of our waiting staff must have a flexible approach to the work they are asked to do.  An excellent standard of presentation and customer service are essential.

At Tewin Bury Farm, we are pleased to be able to host a wide variety of events at which the waiting staff are an integral part of.

We are currently looking to employ experienced Bar and Waiting staff to add to our bank of casual events and restaurant staff.


 
As a casual member of staff, the successful applicant will be offered work on an as and when basis dependent on the needs of the business.  Shifts to be offered are most likely at evenings and weekends so the successful applicant should be available at these times.

 The responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and clearing of dining tables and chairs.
  • Ensuring excellent standard of cleanliness.
  • Provide a food and beverage service to guests in all types of banqueting functions mainly weddings and parties.
  • Ensuring guests receive a warm service and to answer any queries or issues they may have.

Sales Executive

Sales Executive

We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Sales Executive to drive bedroom, conference and events business into the hotel.

 

About the Role
Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager, the Sales Executive will have the following responsibilities:

• to pro-actively sell all our venues for potential conferences, special events and weddings where appropriate
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
• To follow up leads produced to obtain new clients and secure new business, includng visiting client premises
• To conduct show rounds and negotiations with potential new clients
•  If the leads are unsuccessful, ascertain why
• To assist with promotion and marketing ideas for the hotel.
• To attend networking events to promote the hotel.
• To produce sales reports as and when required.
• To work in conjunction with the conference and events team

 

The Candidate
• Needs to have a positive pro-active approach and excellent organisation skills.
• Needs to have experience of working in a sales led role within the hospitality industry.
• Needs to be sales driven by targets and results and possess negotiation skills.
• Preferably has experience of working within the Hertfordshire market.
